When I first tried online dating after a divorce, I used Match.com back in 2006. Overall, I did meet a decent number of quality “matches” and ended up dating one for nearly three years.

After the three year Match relationship ended, I gave the sight another chance in 2009. I noticed many of the same guys who were on there 3 years ago were still active, which I presume has to do with their “money-back guarantee” of buy 6 months, get 6 months free and the fact that many of the matches I met were not necessarily looking for a long term relationship.

They do have a huge selection of members, however, and I do know a few people who met their spouses/significant others through the site.

Pros: large membership; month-to-month/3 mo/6 mo, 9 mo/12 mo membership rates; free 3 day trial; money-back guarantee

Cons: Slow approval for photos and profiles; geared more toward casual dating

Bottom line: Good place to start if you’re new to dating again and/or not looking for a serious relationship.
